The nurse practitioners (NP) and physician at UTHS want to be your primary care provider of choice. We want to provide you with most of your health services and act as your principal point of consultation with the healthcare system. As such, continuity of care is important – so we are available during and after office hours for consultation and referrals.
The clinicians and staff at UTHS welcome you as a patient. UTHS is a nationally recognized nurse-managed primary care center. Nurse practitioners provide most of the patient care at UTHS in collaboration with a physician. The NPs are registered nurses who are prepared, through advanced education and clinical training, to provide a wide range of preventive, acute and chronic healthcare services to individuals of all ages. Our primary care focus is on the following:
As your PCP, it is our responsibility to help manage your care – which includes providing authorizations to specialists and emergency department personnel for treatment in the event that you require services from either of these sources.
If you need to visit an emergency department, please notify us at 713.500.3267 as promptly as possible, so that we may obtain authorization for your emergency departmental care.
If you require the services of a healthcare specialist, please let us know. In most cases, patients under managed care plans must see their PCP for a referral before they see a specialist physician. If a patient does not obtain a referral before seeing the specialist, the patient may be responsible for some or all of the expense of the visit. We want to ensure that you are able to use your managed care plan as efficiently as possible. Please help us help you. For more information, please call 713.500.3267.
